June 6, 1944: Towards the Liberation of France

June 6, 1944 marks the beginning of operations leading to the liberation of occupied France and Europe, under the yoke of Nazi Germany since 1939. We wanted to best represent this defining battle and the fierce fighting that pitted the Allied Expeditionary Force against some of the best-equipped and fiercest German troops of World War II, with numerous figures and model military vehicles.

During the night of June 5 to 6, 1944, the region of Sainte-Mère-Église and that of the mouth of the Orne saw the arrival of two divisions of American paratroopers and one British: The 82 and 101 Airborne in the Cotentin and the 6th Airborne Division near Bénouville. In order to best represent these first battles on Normandy soil, we offer paintable figures of Screaming Eagles and British paratroopers. And for an ultra-realistic diorama, 1001 Hobbies provides you with the famous Pegasus Bridge stormed by the British 6th Airborne Division.
