The compact "squares" of Wellington's infantry withstood the many charges of Marshal Ney's cavalry at Waterloo and contributed greatly to the outcome of the most famous battle of the Napoleonic period.
Among the most famous units are the 2nd Coldstream Guards regiment that took part in the defense of Hougoumont Farm.
They are represented here with the faithful "Brown Bess" flintlocks.
