RC Boat COLIN ARCHER R / C 1/15
RS 1 was built in 1893 for Norvegian Society for Shipwreck Salvage at the Colin Archer shipyard in Rekkevig near Larvik, Norway.
RS 1 was then called Colin Archer.
His tapered bow gave him his worldwide reputation.
The Larvik shipyard has built more than 200 of these interesting vessels.
The Colin Archer RS 1 had a turbulent past, having served as a rescue ship for 40 years, it was sold to private interests, crossed the Atlantic in 1938 having to suffer severe storms in North Carolina, to be then found wrecked on the Potomac River in 1960.
Finally in April 1972, the oldest Norwegian rescue vessel was handed over to the Norwegian Maritime Museum in Oslo.
The boat was fully restored to be admired again.
Today 'The Colin Archer is one of the most visited ships in Northern Europe.
This reissue contains all the elements for the construction of the wooden hull, the laser-cut wood parts and the deck fittings.
The model is designed to sail with sails and an electric motor, with a radio control of 2 to 4 lanes.
