Between 1954 and 1996 the M / S Elbjorn had an important role in the Danish fleet of icebreakers. The career of this ship stopped suddenly on February 12, 1996 following the explosion of its generator. The Elbjorn had managed to come back to port on its own energy reserves, but one thing was certain, it was his last day of service. Today, the Elbjorn has been converted into a restaurant and boat museum, it is visible at the port of Aalborg.
