Stuart LE Wheatley is the ruthless and cunning owner of the Sassy Gal. Wheatley built his boardwalk empire the hard way. When it comes to competition, Wheatley has learned all the lessons of his past. As ruthless as he is cunning, he is even considered by many to be the treasurer of the road agents who prey on weak travelers on the roads outside the town. Rumors persist that he is also responsible for disappearances and many recent, perhaps not so unfortunate, accidental deaths. An almost instinctive winner, he's had to tighten his grip lately, but he may have found a worthy opponent with the arrival of "Slick" Dan Pottinger's "The Blue Canary" casino. It doesn't help that "Kat," the troublesome daughter of the deceased Jim Rogan, is still thriving with her "Rogan's Bar!" William E. Farnum is the mayor of Dead Man's Hand and is considered a puppet of Wheatley. Weak and obsequious, he is often seen hobnobbing with various upstanding citizens of Dead Man's Hand. Caleb Harper is new in town and rents a space from Stuart Wheatley for his dry goods business. Originally from the northeast, Harper took advantage of his service in the Union Army and headed west. He briefly met Calamity Jane, and the two traveled to Dead Man's Hand together. Some consider him an agent of Wheatley despite his good manners and diligent work ethic.
