Who is Holo?
Holo, also nicknamed "the wolf of Yoitsu" or "the great wolf" (Wise Wolf), is the protective deity of the crops of the village of Pasloe.
In her appearance as a beautiful young woman with wolf ears and a tail, she has watched over the land and its inhabitants for centuries.
When she meets Lawrence, a traveling merchant eager for discovery, she decides to accompany him to satisfy his curiosity and regain his former domain.
Intelligent and cunning, Holo masters the art of conversation and does not hesitate to tease Lawrence while helping him negotiate profitable trades.
Her playful nature and ancestral wisdom make her an endearing companion, oscillating between complicity and friendly rivalry with the merchant.
Complete History of the Spice and Wolf
Born from the imagination of Isuna Hasekura in 2006, the Spice and Wolf franchise was first published as light novels, illustrated by Jyuu Ayakura.
The plot takes place in a fictional medieval world inspired by 10th-century Europe, where trade and economics play a central role.

Rubinstein Arc (Volumes 8–10) – Lawrence attends a furnace market and enters the gates of the wealthy city of Rubinstein, where he faces stiff competition from a rival merchant, adding a complex romantic and economic dimension to the series.
Kingdoms and Conflicts Arc (Volumes 11–15) – The plot deepens when Lawrence and Holo become embroiled in the rivalries between several merchant cities, discovering that political forces are seeking to manipulate supply and demand for their own interests.
Sequel Wolf & Parchment (2016–present) – The series continues with Wolf & Parchment, featuring Holo and Lawrence's daughter, Myuri, following a similar path of trade and discovery while carrying on her parents' legacy.
