The F-22 features detailed panel lines, intricate paintwork and realistic decals, including over 15 colors that accurately reproduce the shades of the metallic and semi-gloss surfaces of the real F-22.

The Freewing F-22 design incorporates innovations such as horizontal stabilizers mounted on metal shafts, servos housed in plastic trays for simplified maintenance, and a plastic-lined cockpit to protect the dark surfaces from heat.
