Fr In August 1932, Trans World Airlines (TWA) issued a call for tenders for a new, more modern and efficient airliner. Douglas took up the challenge by developing the DC-1, a prototype of the future DC-2, whose first flight took place on July 1, 1933. and a stretched fuselage to accommodate 14 passengers.
The first flight of the DC-2 took place on May 11, 1934, and it entered service a week later, on May 18.
By July, the DC-2 was providing regular services in the United States.

With approximately 200 units produced, the DC-2 was used in both the civil and military sectors.
It flew for many international airlines, including Swissair, KLM and Československá Letecká Společnost (Czechoslovakia) military and aviation history.
Thanks to a historical combination of modern molding technology and 3D printed resin, the brand offers detailed, accurate kits designed for the most demanding enthusiasts.
