Product description : AC-119K Stinger
During the Vietnam War, the USAF C-119 military transport aircraft served as the basis for the design of a heavily armed AC (Attack Cargo) version intended to attack enemy troop concentrations and supply lines . Equipped with two 20mm cannons and four 7.62mm machine guns, the AC-119K version was very effective against columns of trucks. A version with reduced armament was built under the name AC-119G. In addition to the original two piston engines, the aircraft also featured two underwing pod jet engines to shorten the takeoff run length even with full fuel and ammunition. With the entry into service of the more powerful AC-130H Hercules, these aircraft were gradually transferred to the South Vietnamese Air Force, which used them until the end of the conflict.
