The North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco is a ground attack, reconnaissance and guidance aircraft artillery designed by North American. He served in various conflicts, including the Vietnam War and the fight against narcotics in Colombia. The OV-10D version, resulting from the conversion of 17 OV-10As from the US Marine Corps, is intended for night surveillance. In addition to the night vision system, it retains the under-fuselage and external fuel carrying capabilities of the OV-10A. The OV-10D is equipped with improved turbines, under-wing pylons for rocket baskets, flares, free-fall or laser-guided bombs, and external tanks. A FLIR AN/AAS-37 and laser designator are installed in a turret located in the nose of the aircraft, which can be connected to a 20 mm General Electric M97 cannon mounted in a turret under the fuselage. The equipment also includes an optional APR-39 radar search and warning system, an ALE-39 decoy launcher and an exhaust heat reduction system. This version was withdrawn from service in the United States in March 1994, with seven examples sold to South Korea.
