The M4A3E8 is the latest type of Sherman, which can be said to It constitutes an exceptional work at that time. The balance of the different abilities is very good. Its balance of firepower, armor and mobility can be compared to Russia's T-34/85 and Germany's Leopard at the same time.
The M4A3E8 uses a new type of suspension system (Horizontal Suspension System) HVSS ( a distinguishing feature that sets it apart from regular Shermans). Therefore, the M4A3E8 is also known as M4A3 (76W) HVSs. The weight of the M4A3E8 makes the original VVSS (Vertical Suspension System) suspension device outdated, but the new HVSS can reduce jerking, although the tank is heavier due to increased armor and improved artillery, while the widened track reduces the pressure on the ground. This flexible and smooth walking system also earned it the nickname "easy eight" in the mouths of American soldiers.
