Aircraft model WORLD WAR 2 FIGHTER
Less than 10 years after the first motorized flight by the Wright brothers, the military aviation was born a short time before World War I, in 1909.
Its first missions were reconnaissance, gunfire observation and light bombing.
The first fighters were created in order to counteract opponents’ missions.
During the 1920s and 1930s, the quick evolution of aircraft performance gave a more and more important role to military aviation.
Therefore, It was used intensively on all fronts during World War II.
Among the most famous fighters used during this period, were the Messerschmitt Me109, the Focke-Wulf Fw190, the P-40E Kittyhawk and the F6F Hellcat.
With this set of 4 assembly-kits, Heller gives you the opportunity to rediscover them.
A wide range of marking options are provided to allow you to replicate aircraft that fought in Europe, the Pacific, South East Asia or Australia.
This aircraft was derived from the Bf-109 G production series around the autumn of 1944, which it closely resembled.
Only a few details regarding the engine, armament and cabin pressure differentiated it from previous versions.
However, the K was then equipped with the «Erla Hood (high visibility cockpit) and the large empennage (tail assembly).
The two latest modifications had already been tested on certain types of 109-G.
This aircraft that arrived very late and very little documentation still exists.
They believe that the first K’s first went into combat on the 1st January 1945 at the famous German attack on liberated territories.
