Aircraft model Mitsubishi Zero NEW TOOLING
When the Japanese Zero entered service in 1940, it was arguably the most advanced naval fighter in the world and quickly gained a reputation as a ruthless fighter.
In early engagements, the Zero proved so effective that pilots were able to post an incredible 12-to-1 win ratio against their opponents. As the Wehrmacht began its march through Europe in 1940, little attention was paid to developments in the Far East.
After years of rearmament and modernization, the Japanese Navy boasted some of the most advanced naval aircraft in the world in its inventory, including the superb Mitsubishi A6M Zero.
This long-range naval fighter would be at the forefront of Japan's expansionist ambitions throughout World War II, and at the outset of the war, it proved to be unrivaled in the Pacific region.
The Zero also quickly earned a reputation as a dogfighter, and Allied pilots quickly learned to avoid slow, turning combat with this beautifully balanced aircraft.
American pilots quickly developed tactics that avoided playing into the Zero's hands and began to win victories. As new fighters entered service, the A6M Zero began to show its weaknesses, namely a lack of armor protection for the pilot and the absence of self-sealing fuel tanks in the wing.
With their "boom and zoom" strike and execution tactics, the Americans finally began to get the measure of the dreaded Zero.
About the model:
With this classic model possessing exceptional maneuverability, no collection is complete without the A6M Zero.

Who is the manufacturer Airfix?
On the market for 80 years now, the Airfix brand has been one of the leaders in modeling in Great Britain. It is none other than the oldest manufacturer of plastic model kits. The British company was founded in 1939 by Nicholas Kove,a Hungarian businessman. In the early days, Airfix only manufactured inflatable rubber toys.
It was not until 1948 that the brand launched into injection molding. The first kit model is an agricultural tractor that is distributed to sales representatives of the Ferguson brand. Severy categories of models integrate the Airfix catalog, including scale models of cars, trucks, boats and planes. In 1986, the company was acquired by one of its biggest competitors, Heller.
