The Project 1164 of missile cruisers was first laid in 1976.
The first ship of this class was launched in 1979 at ship yard no. 445, and was commissioned in 1983 under the name Slava.
The Slava was finally renamed with Moskva, and re-commissioned with hull number 121 after its overhaul in 2000 as the flag ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
3 other vessels of this class were launched, the second unit, the Marshal Ustinov, was commissioned with the Northern Fleet in 1986 with hull no 070.
The third unit was commissioned to the Pacific Fleet in 1989 under the name Chervona Ukraina, in 1990’s it was renamed 011 Varyag.
The fourth and final vessel is still pending, initially to be named Vilna Ukraina.

The 1:700 scale is mainly used for model ships (battleships, aircraft carriers, etc.). A large boat that measures 300m long at full size, will be 1 foot 5 inches / 42,8cm in the scaled model (300/700 = 0.428).

Inspired of a World War II warship, this model is intended for experts in naval modeling. Bismarck was the first battleship built by the Nazis in the Blohm & Voss shipyard. It is the largest warship used by Germany in the nineteenth century. She sank as a result of british bombing and saved the lives of 114 sailors out of 2,200 crews. Its wreck was found in 1989 650 kilometers off the coast of France. Trumpeter's miniature replica contains 1,700 pieces and is not recommended for children under the age of 14.
