Most of you might wonder as to what can be so big that puts the team on a loosing streak. Okay then, let it be known that reasons are countless.
To take steps pertaining to soccer drills for kids, be very alert and calculative. You need to understand the psychology of the kids. Talk to the kids in a manner that they find most suitable. But unfortunately, many coaches are unprepared to adjust to it. They fail to realize that there is a distinction in coaching kids and coaching grown-up players.
So this is it; let me share some blunders that coaches make which reduce their teams to rubble.
1. Many coaches take their jobs for granted. They don’t arrange the drills, refuse to plan their sessions, and are always late in getting to the field. All these are not only bad traits but put off the kids too. You cannot be non-serious when the kids take soccer so seriously. Youth soccer drills should be pre-planned. If you need certain equipment to carry out the drills, arrange it before hand.
Don’t be late. Don’t be the one to reach the field later than the kids. Well in fact, grace the filed with your presence when kids reach. What you get here is the additional time to run through the drills or plan out things.
2. When the coaches are instructing before the kids soccer drills, it is normal for them to take a long time. Can you believe how boring that can be? Know that kids come to the field to play and not listen to boring speeches. Keep your instructions brief and to the point. Use this opportunity to talk to the kids about the strategy and styles that the kids should learn.
It is also important not to disturb them in between the sessions. If there is something that you need to tell the kids, wait for the session to end. Also, stay out of the field when the kids are practicing.
3. Some coaches use foul language with the young players. In soccer drills for youth, both the traits are self-destructive. It may spell disaster for you if you get carried away by emotions on the field. It is Ok if kids make mistakes. Never forget that they are very young. You should not take it seriously and get offensive with the players.
If this happens, you can drive the kids away from the game. Soccer is a game of the intelligent. Make the kids realize this and you would have motivated them.
