American Fender Stratocaster Guitar

What is it that makes the Fender Stratocaster such an outstanding guitar is the unique, intimate sound which comes from the three single coil pickup configuration. Although they can be a little noisy at times and can take time to get to grips with at high volumes, they do have a raw sound  that is great for that rock n roll sound. They have a great fit and finish, with great attention to detail. Plus others would say I’m sure that the Stratocaster holds tuning very well. I found the action on my Stratocaster was setup great for me, which is an added bonus as well. you will often find that the factory settings on some guitars higher than you may want it to be. I chose a maple board for my Strat as it seems to glide smoothly, and a satin neck which is nice and smooth. They do comein a number of wood finishes, but it depends upon what is right for you. The American Standard Stratocaster comes with a new bridge, with improved bent-steel saddles for an increased resonance and sustain. The saddles maintain that vintage look and tone, but with a few modern improvements such as spacing, slot elongation as well as height screw length. The bridge is designed to complement the 22 medium jumbo frets and rolled edges which allows more space for your fingers . They have also elongated the string slot to reduce friction and string breakage, while improving the string break angle over the primary contact point. Other than all this the fact that the Stratocaster is one of, if not the most sought after model of guitar tells you a lot.

I bought my Stratocaster on the net from Music 123, which is a fantastic site if not just because of their prices, but because they are so honest with their reviews. The items they sell are top quality. My Stratocaster was available with several finishes including the wood finishes and colors and on top of that a number of optional pickup covers, knobs, and tips.

Make Music Learning Fun

Its only in recent years that I have really appreciated the advantage that I had through growing up in a very musical family. Both my mother and father were amateur musicians, my mum playing piano and dad playing jazz guitar.

Having children of my own I can see how they have benefited from having access to guitars and other musical instruments as they’ve grown up. They’ve never been pushed toward any particular instrument or forced to attend piano or violin lessons. Instead they’ve been allowed to develop their own interest, just as I was, and this approach has clearly been good for them.

Our youngest boy has no interest in playing an instrument of making music. He has a very keen interest in sports, especially football, and online gaming. However his older brother was bashing out rhythms on a toy drum kit from about the age of three. By the time he’d reached seven he was regularly jamming, with me on guitar, on his little child size drum kit.

My daughter has always like to challenge her mother and me, ever since she was a very little girl. She has developed a keen interest in Drum and Bass and recently started to get into DJing and playing records at extremely high volume levels, upsetting our aged neighbours. Her interest in DJ equipment and modern dance music has led to her developing skills in music production using computers and it’s looking like she will progress to a music technology course at college.

We think that our parental influence is very significant in the interests and inclinations of our children. We’ve tried to provide very clearly defined boundaries while encouraging them to be independent. As they grow through their teenage years their independence and self reliance is becoming increasingly apparent. We just wish that our daughter wouldn’t keep upsetting the neighbours with her loud dance music.
