Superb Moment to be a Hockey Betting Buff

Most people outside of Canada don’t even know that the biggest tournament in hockey gambling anywhere is in full swing right now.

The 2010 NHL playoff wagering competition has been some of the most fascinating in hockey betting history and no matter how the rest of the Stanley Cup gambling action plays out it’s safe to say that NHL wagering enthusiasts have gotten their money’s worth and then some this post season.

For anyone that has made a hockey gamble during this fantastic stretch of hockey wagering, it has likely been a highly rewarding experience. With only about every type of twist and turn, unpredictable moment, outstanding squad play and standout individual performances the 2010 NHL playoff gambling truly has had it all.

The playoffs have had everything a hockey gambling enthusiast might want from a sports gambling perspective, and if anything this NHL postseason wagering action has likely converted a heap of fans sitting on the fence about the sport and inspired them to make a hockey wager soon.

This year’s NHL playoff betting was right up your alley if you like upsets. You can find nearly more upsets than in the hockey wagering post season this season than competition won by the team preferred in the hockey odds -at least in the Eastern Conference betting event. After all how otherwise could you explain an Eastern Conference Finals gambling series between a #7 seed (Philadelphia Flyers) and a #8 seed (Montreal Canadiens).

If you want come-from-behind hockey gambling antics what about the philadelphia flyers performance versus the Boston Bruins at the conference semi-finals when the team erased a 3- series deficit and became only the 4th squad in sports wagering history -any major sport- to win a tournament after dropping behind by this kind of large margin.

But if you’re a purist and like to see the NHL gambling cream rise to the top then you can certainly enjoy the way the Western Conference betting competition played out. The #1 seed San Jose Sharks (113 points) and the #2 seed Hawks (112 points) were the top two teams all year long in NHL betting out west. Both of these teams proved their class in the NHL playoff wagering action by reaching the conference finals.

With an NHL wagering championship at stake you can be sure that the hockey wagering competition will continue to be fast and furious in Game 4, however as to which team will win the next installment of the Stanley Cup betting event is up in the air.

Thus far this NHL playoff betting series has been unbelievable. Several of these games may have gone either way, and each game has been decided by a single goal. We may just as easily be checking out a 2-1 Philadelphia lead as a Chicago lead.

And today in the Stanley Cup Finals wagering action between the Hawks and the flyers the sports wagering action has been amazing so far and this tournament has the feel of a possible seven-game classic, and who can complain about that?

SaturdayĆ¢€™s NASCAR Race has Completely Open Sportsbook Odds

The sportsbook NASCAR probabilities in sports betting are wide open for Saturday night’s Coke Zero 400 at Daytona.

There are actually seven drivers showed with single-digit probabilities at the offshore sportsbook to win Saturday’s contest that can be seen on TNT television. The last lap is always wild and exciting and anything can take place at Daytona.

Sportsbook NASCAR odds list Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kevin Harvick at odds of 8-1 while Kyle Busch, Jamie McMurray, Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon are all 9-1. It makes sense that the odds are close because the competition is very unpredictable due to Daytona being restrictor plate racing.

Stewart is a definite contender to win on Saturday evening since he won the July contest at Daytona last season. Stewart was able to get past Kyle Busch in last year’s competition due to a push from Denny Hamlin. Stewart was second last week and when the weather warms up so does his performance.

Though perhaps he should be, Kurt Busch isn’t on the list of faves at the offshore sportsbook. He’s listed at 13-1 but based on his recent performances he ought to be preferred at Daytona. In the past 5 competitions, he has won more points than any other driver. In his last 6 starts at Daytona, he’s been in the top 10 5 times. Busch is way past due to win at Daytona. Another steady driver at Daytona has been Kevin Harvick. He’s 7 top-15 finishes in his last nine starts at Daytona and top-10 finishes in 2 of his last three Daytona competitions.

Might this be the week that Dale Earnhardt Jr. at last destroys his long losing streak? Daytona would be the best place to do it. He has 2 career victories at Daytona and he’s been in the Top 10 in 3 of his last five starts at the track.

Matt Kenseth has finished 8th or better in his last 4 Daytona starts, though it has been a poor season for Roush Fenway Racing. At odds of 22-1, he’s an interesting choice. Since Daytona is a track where any person can win, it’s become a quality spot for first-time champions. The field has some charm this week at NASCAR wagering odds of 10-1.

NASCAR authorities are needing the use of a restrictor plate with 1 and 1/32nd-inch openings – the greatest to be utilized since the plates, which limit air flow to the engine and slow speeds, were 1st used in 1988. The 2.5-mile, high-banked superspeedway will be repaved previous to the 2011 Daytona 500, so the modification applies only to this month’s Coke Zero 400. According to Robin Pemberton, NASCAR’s vice president of tournament, the change is needed to give drivers a boost needed as a result of the extra drag created by a switch in NASCAR cars from a rear wing to a rear spoiler.

The 400-mile Cup contest at the massive 2.5-mile oval on July 3 will be the first-ever broadcast in 3-D. The 3-D production will be offered through TNT RaceBuddy on NASCAR.COM as well as through DirecTV. Viewers will want a 3-D TV or computer display with matching 3-D glasses.

No Wimbledon Magic for Roddick in Sportsbook Upset

Andy Roddick made big news a year ago with his epic loss to Roger Federer in the final at Wimbledon but his results will not be duplicated this year as he lost in the 4th round versus the sportsbook tennis wagering probabilities.

It was a sportsbook betting shocker as Roddick lost to Yen-Hsun Lu who’s the 82nd ranked competitor on earth. Lu is a Taiwanese player who had not won a match at the All England Club the past four years.

As he has throughout his career, Roddick let everyone down, though sports book probabilities seriously favored Roddick in this competition. In a competition that lasted more than four and a half hours he lost 4-6, 7-6, 7-6, 6-7, 9-7. Lu won the fifth set by breaking Roddick for the sole time in the match. Lu was not anticipated to even supply a challenge to Roddick. Lu had lost in the 1st round at Wimbledon 4 straight times but this year he made it to the fourth round and upset the greatly preferred Roddick vs sportsbook odds. He is the 1st Asian man to achieve the quarterfinals since Shuzo Matsuoka of Japan in 1995. The match was all about serve between Roddick and Lu. Roddick had 38 aces while Lu had 22. Lu was just 2-10 before Monday versus participants ranked in the Top-10 on earth. The previous 3 times he had faced Roddick, Lu had lost in straight sets.

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, the two sportsbook favorites at Wimbledon on the men’s side, made it to the quarterfinals with straight set victories. Federer rolled over Jurgen Melzer while Nadal won in straight sets vs Paul-Henri Mathieu.

Lu saw his results end when he confronted Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals. The 3rd-seeded Djokovic lost just 12 points in 13 service competitions Wednesday and never played a break point. Djokovic matched his best exhibition at Wimbledon. He also arrived at the semifinals 3 years ago. Djokovic will pass Federer in the rankings next week.

Tomas Berdych, who won his quarterfinal match against Roger Federer on Wednesday, will then be competing against the champ of that match. It was an additional huge upset at Wimbledon. Berdych had never progressed past the Round of 16 at a big tournament before this year.

On the other side of the bracket it was Rafael Nadal facing Robin Soderling. It was the 1st time that Soderling has attained the quarterfinals at Wimbledon. Nadal took that game by eliminating Robin Soderling in four sets. Nadal retrieved the No. 1 ranking a short while ago. It was a rematch of the final at this year’s French Open, which Nadal additionally earned.

It was 4th-seeded Andy Murray facing 10th seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the other quarterfinal competition. Murray has made the quarterfinals for the third straight year. He is playing better than anyone so far as he is the only player on the men’s side who has not lost a set and his odds at the sports book continue to drop. Murray won that match, eliminating Tsonga and setting himself up for a seminfinal fight vs Nadal.

Football Stadiums In France And Why I Love Visiting Them

I always used to spend my two week holidays lying on a beach somewhere up until a couple of years ago. I would always claim to be having a great time, but to be honest these holidays were very unsatisfying. I actually felt that it was a bit of a waste going to another country just to spend my days on a beach and my nights in a bar. Instead I would have preferred to see some things of interest. Now I don’t really do historical sites or museums but football is one thing that I love. I got the idea of using my holidays to visit different football stadiums as France is so easy to get to this seemed like the obvious choice.

Football is my passion, but this summer trip mostly involved visiting the stadiums when there were no matches being played at the time although I did get to see a couple of games. Football stadiums really do hold a lot of fond memories for me so I particularly enjoy visiting them. In much the same way that arty folk get a buzz from visiting places like the Tate gallery, I get the same feeling from a football stadium. When I stand in an empty stadium I can imagine just what it would be like to play there and I swear all this passion leaves a mark.

That is why I decided to go and see the 20 football stadiums in France from Ligue 1. I did this during my two week holiday and to say it was hard is an understatement. Instead of lying on a beach I got to see so much and I have to say that it has been the best holiday I have ever had. Next year I want to go back and try for the Ligue 2 stadiums and maybe the year after that I’ll move onto Germany. Maybe I’ll get to visit all the main football stadiums in the world.

Today it has become a trend for more people to drive in their car over to their foreign holiday destination. Lots of individuals head straight to the south coast for theferry to france. This often saves worrying about driving through the tunnel and worrying aboutdisneyland paris tickets. What better way than heading over and doing some city breaks europe?
